Weight
Log a weigh-in in a few taps and Progress keeps the history, shows how your weight changed over the last day, week and two weeks, and draws the trend over three months, six months, or everything you have logged. Weigh-ins can also come in from Apple Health, so a smart scale that writes to Health lands here without retyping, and the weigh-ins you log in Progress can be saved to Apple Health too.
Logging a weigh-in
- Open Weight from the Personal tab.
- Tap Add weigh-in, enter the value, and pick the date if it was not today.
- To change or delete a weigh-in, open the full list with See all (it appears once you have more than eight weigh-ins), tap an entry to edit it, or swipe it to delete.
Weigh-ins that came in from Apple Health are marked as such and can't be edited in Progress. Change or delete them in the Health app instead.
The weight you see is in the unit you chose in Settings, kilograms or pounds. Your weigh-ins are stored once and shown in whichever unit you pick, so switching never changes your data. A few screens, such as the photo comparison, still show kilograms.
Apple Health
Turn on Sync with Apple Health from the weight screen (or Settings → Apple Health) and allow body-weight access. Then:
- Weigh-ins recorded by other apps or a connected scale appear in Progress when you open the weight screen.
- Weigh-ins you log in Progress are saved to Apple Health as well. Editing one updates it there, and deleting one removes it there.
If you later see Not syncing yet, the permission was turned off on the iPhone side. Tap Open Health Permissions to fix it.
Weight and your diet plan
If you run a diet plan with a target weight, the plan uses these weigh-ins to show where you are between your start and your target. See the Diet plans page.
Apple Watch
You can log a weigh-in from the watch too. It starts at your last weigh-in and goes to your phone, which saves it like any other.
What it does not do
- It does not estimate body fat or take photos. Progress photos are a separate feature.
- It does not set a target weight by itself. That belongs to a diet plan.
Where your data lives
Weigh-ins are stored on your phone. When you are signed in and have allowed weight sync in your privacy settings, they also sync to your account and come back after a reinstall. Deleting an entry removes it from your account and your other devices too.
