Troubleshooting
Symptoms people run into, and what to do about each. Most fixes are one step. If yours is not here, or the step does not help, send the details listed at the bottom to support.
My history disappeared after a reinstall or on a new phone
Sign in with the same account you used before. Your sessions, cardio, plans, weight, injuries, photos, and supplements download again. It can take a minute on a long history. Steps are not in the download because they come from Apple Health, which still has them. If it is still empty after signing in and waiting, write to support with the email on your account.
I never got the confirmation email, or the link has expired
Check your spam folder. Then try to sign in in the app: when it says your email isn't confirmed yet, tap Resend confirmation email. If you opened an old link, the page that opens tells you it has expired and lets you send a new one. You can request one email per minute, and only the newest link works. If nothing arrives after a few minutes, write to support with the email you signed up with.
The app asked me to sign in again, or my data looks empty while signed in
You should never have to sign in again just because time passed or you were offline. Progress keeps you signed in even when your session has expired on the server, and syncs when the network returns. If you see an empty app while signed in, force-quit and reopen it. If it is still empty, update to the latest version; an older build had a bug where a launch more than an hour after the last one temporarily showed an empty local account.
A Watch session is missing on the phone
The Watch hands finished sessions to the phone in the background and keeps retrying until the phone confirms it has them. Open Progress on the phone with the Watch nearby and give it a moment. A session is only handed over once it has ended, so finish it on the Watch first. Sessions that reached the phone are never duplicated, so it is safe to wait.
My steps are wrong
Progress reads steps from Apple Health and never writes them. If the number looks too high, two apps or devices are writing steps to Apple Health at once. Fix it in the Health app: Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices, then choose one source. If the number is too low, check that Progress has permission to read Steps in the Health app.
Focus mode is still on, or will not start
- Focus mode lifts when the session ends, when you tap Unlock apps on the live screen, and by itself after three hours at the latest.
- If apps stay blocked after all that, open Progress once. It checks on launch and clears a block that has no session behind it.
- If Focus mode refuses to start every time, redo the Screen Time setup: in iOS Settings, remove Progress under Screen Time access, then grant it again from the Focus mode settings in Progress. This does not delete any of your data.
- Turning off Screen Time access in iOS Settings also clears any block.
The app restarts when I come back to it
iOS closes apps in the background when it needs memory. Progress brings you back to the tab and screen you left, and a live session keeps running on the lock screen and in the Live Activity. If it happens a lot, update to the latest version, which made background returns much lighter.
Exercise pictures are missing
Every exercise picture ships inside the app, so they work offline from the first launch. Pictures added after your version was built are downloaded the next time you are online and the library syncs. If one is missing, connect once and open the exercise again.
I cannot find the coach
The Coach page is rolled out gradually. If it is not in your app yet, it has not been switched on for your version. On-Device AI also needs a phone that supports Apple Intelligence with it turned on; the Settings page shows its status.
Something else
Try the usual order: update the app, force-quit and reopen, then restart the phone.
What to send support
- What you tapped, what you expected, and what happened instead.
- Your iPhone model and iOS version, and the Progress version. The version is at the bottom of the Settings page.
- The date of the session or entry it concerns.
- Your Watch model, if it involves a Watch session.
- A screenshot if you have one. Never send health data you do not want us to see.
