Progress photos

Take a front, side, and back photo every other week and Progress lines them up for you: a month-by-month library, a Then & now card, and a compare view that shows two photos side by side, overlaid, or with a wipe slider, with the weight and weeks between them. Photos are private to you and never appear in the feed.

Taking a photo

  1. Open Progress photos from the Personal tab and tap the camera button.
  2. Pick the pose: Front, Side, or Back.
  3. Your last photo of that pose shows as a ghost over the viewfinder so you can match the stance. Adjust the ghost opacity or use the 3-second timer.
  4. Take the photo. It is saved as "week N", counted from your first photo.

You can also import photos from your photo library. An imported photo takes the date it was taken, so old photos sort into the right month.

Deleting a photo

Press and hold a photo in the library and confirm Delete this photo?. It disappears from your library and from your other devices.

Comparing

Tap two photos in the library, then Compare. Switch between side by side, overlay, and wipe. The card underneath shows the weight change, taken from your nearest weigh-ins, and the weeks elapsed. Save the comparison to your photo library or share it as an image.

Reminder

Turn on Photo reminder and Progress reminds you every other Sunday at 08:00. Same light, same spot gives the best comparisons.

Where your data lives

Photos are stored on your phone. Nothing is uploaded until you turn on photo sync in your privacy settings; until then, neither the photos nor their details leave your phone. When sync is on, they go to private storage that only you can read. Turning sync off and choosing to delete the server copy removes them from your account while keeping the photos on this phone. Deleting your account removes them too.

There is no website view of your photos. To get copies, use the data export: it includes download links for your pictures, valid for 7 days.

What it does not do

  • It does not estimate body fat.
  • It does not share photos to friends. Sharing is always a manual export of a comparison image.
