Diet plans

A diet in Progress is a plan, not a food log. You say what you are doing, cutting, bulking, maintaining, or something of your own, optionally which style of eating, and optionally a target weight and how long you are giving it. Progress then tracks your weigh-ins against the plan and shows the weekly rate and goal progress. There are no meals, no calories, and no macros.

Starting a plan

  1. Open Diet from the Personal tab and tap Start a diet.
  2. Choose the goal: Cutting, Bulking, Maintaining, or Custom with your own name.
  3. Optionally pick a nutrition style (keto, carnivore, vegan, vegetarian, paleo, Mediterranean, or other) so it is on the record.
  4. Set the start date. Optionally set an end date or a duration in days, and a target weight.

When a plan's end date has passed, it moves to Past plans with the weigh-ins it was built on. Plan one diet at a time: Progress does not yet end your current plan for you when you start a new one, so set an end date on the old plan first.

What the plan shows

  • Weeks left and the end date when the plan has an end, otherwise how many weeks in you are.
  • Start weight (your last weigh-in on or before the start), current weight, and target.
  • The weekly rate of change and an On plan or Off plan label: on plan means your weight is moving the way your goal asks (down when cutting, up when bulking).
  • With a target weight: how far along you are as a bar, and how much is left to go.
  • The recent weigh-ins logged during the plan. Log a new one from the same screen.

A finished plan's numbers freeze at its end date. Weigh-ins after that belong to whatever comes next.

Changing or deleting a plan

Tap the edit button on a plan, current or past, to change any of its details. Delete Diet at the bottom of the editor removes the plan after you confirm. Your weigh-ins are kept.

What it does not do

  • No food, calorie, or macro tracking, and no barcode scanning.
  • No suggested calorie target or rate. Progress reports your rate; it does not tell you what it should be.

Where your data lives

Plans are stored on your phone. When you are signed in and have allowed diet sync in your privacy settings, they sync to your account and come back after a reinstall.
