Delete your Progress account and data
This page explains how to delete your account in Progress, the training and health app, and what happens to your data. You can delete your account yourself, directly in the app — no email or support request needed.
Before you delete
- Want a copy of your data? Export it first: Settings → Privacy → Export my data. Deleting your account also stops any earlier export from working.
- Deletion is permanent. There is no recovery, undo or grace period.
In the app
- Open Progress and go to Settings → Privacy → Delete account.
- Read the warning and tap Continue.
- Type DELETE and tap Continue.
- Sign in again to confirm it's you. Your account is deleted right after you sign in, and the app shows a confirmation code — keep it as your proof of deletion.
When it happens
Your account and its data are deleted immediately. The only copies that remain are in our database backups, which roll off within 30 days.
What gets deleted
Everything in your account: your account and profile, workouts, sessions, plans, exercises and benchmark history, health data (body measurements, diet, supplements, injuries), progress photos and other photos or videos, AI coach conversations and coach memory, friend connections and likes, consent records and data exports.
What is kept
- Exercises, workouts or benchmarks other people already used (for example a friend logged a set with your exercise, or put your workout in their plan). They stay so the other person's history stays intact, but without your name.
- Catalog content — the app's shared exercise library and its illustrations.
- The deletion receipt: your account id, the confirmation code, and when you asked for deletion and when it finished. It links to nothing else once your account is gone, and lets support confirm that your account was deleted.
- Data in Apple Health or Health Connect that Progress wrote there. It belongs to your phone's health store; remove it there if you want it gone.
Your other devices
If Progress is installed on other phones or tablets, remove it there too. Those devices keep their own local copy of your data until you remove the app or erase its data.
If you can't use the app
Email support@stijnsmit.com from the address on your account with the subject "Delete my account". This also works if your account can't sign in on the device you have. We'll confirm the request came from your account's address, delete the account within one month, and let you know when it's done.
